One of the most remarkable things that people say about our street is how friendly all the neighbours are! It truly is a fantastic family-oriented avenue filled with diversity yet one common goal: we all look out for each other. We always wave and say, “Hello” and we know each other by name. Once a year, the next street over has a block party and the residents on Hertle Avenue are included, too.
Yes, we are only 15 minutes by car to the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto, but we’ve escaped that feeling by being on a quiet street in a tranquil neighbourhood.
And that’s where we are!
Half way up the block and far enough away from busy Dundas you’ll find a wide semi-detached house with a sweet fence and lots of charm. As you walk in you’ll notice the amount of light that this house has. Open in design, the living room and dining room can host wonderful parties. All new flooring has been installed on the main floor.
The kitchen was custom built five years old. It has heated marble flooring, a deep kitchen sink and a centre island so you can talk to family and guests while you prepare a dinner and a cocktail or two!
Down the stairs and past the side entrance is the basement rec room. Currently it’s the media room but has many other possible uses: a games room for the kids or even another bedroom as a spa-like 3-piece bathroom adjoins this room. Again, no expense was spared. It, too, has a heated marble floor, a rain glass shower and gorgeous tile work.
The other half of the basement contains the usual suspects: a washer and dryer, a freezer chests that’s included, a high efficiency furnace and the rented water tank. Please don’t overlook the workshop and the loads of storage discretely tucked away.
Upstairs on the second level, you’ll find the master bedroom, and two other bedrooms. One is currently being used as an office, but changing it back into a fully functional bedroom is simple. All bedrooms have windows and closets providing light and storage respectively.
Again, we have another renovated bathroom with heated marble flooring, a rain glass shower/bath and beautiful tile work.
During the nicer weather, it’s the back yard that is the place to be! Lush hydrangea grace the garden. There’s plenty of space to have two seating areas: toward the back where the adorable garden shed is and closer to the house for a big outdoor table. All in all it’s so peaceful.
Take note that the driveway has been widened. This allows for one compact car to park in the driveway and the other in the garage. The garage has new shingling and an automatic garage door opener.
There are a few other gadgets that come with the house. There is a Kevo state-of-the-art door lock and a NEST thermostat that may look intimidating but are very easy to use.
To sum everything up, 51 Hertle Avenue is a meticulously and lovingly maintained house close to Greenwood Park, Armstrong Community Centre, 24 hour TTC (Carlton Car), the Indian Bazaar and all the fun shops in Leslieville.
Thank you so much for coming by! We really appreciate your interest!
